Overview

We are seeking an experienced Video Production Manager/Editor to join our digital media team on a freelance basis. This role will be responsible for overseeing video production workflows, editing content, and ensuring high-quality deliverables for our television and streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in television production, digital media editing, and experience with streaming content delivery.

Engagement Terms

• Freelance contract position
• Monthly retainer: $2,500
• Estimated workload: 60-80 hours per month
• Remote position with possible occasional on-site requirements
• 3-month initial contract with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end video production workflows from raw footage to final delivery
• Edit and produce high-quality video content for television and digital streaming platforms
• Collaborate with creative teams to ensure content meets brand standards and audience expectations
• Optimize video assets for various distribution platforms and viewing experiences
• Maintain organized media libraries and production files
• Ensure technical quality control of all video deliverables
• Coordinate with production teams on shooting schedules and requirements
• Provide guidance on best practices for video production and streaming
• Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced media environment
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in video production and editing
• Proven experience in television production environments
• Strong proficiency with industry-standard editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
• Experience with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition
• Demonstrated experience preparing content for streaming platforms
• Understanding of video compression, codecs, and delivery specifications
• Knowledge of broadcast standards and quality control requirements
• Experience with multi-camera productions
• Strong eye for visual composition, timing, and storytelling
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Portfolio showcasing relevant work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with culturally diverse content and creators
• Background in Black and brown media/entertainment production
• Knowledge of streaming platform requirements (technical specs, delivery formats)
• Experience with live production and streaming technologies
• Familiarity with content management systems for media organizations
• Understanding of audience engagement metrics and analytics
• Experience working with remote production teams

Technical Requirements

• High-performance editing workstation with appropriate specifications
• Fast, reliable internet connection
• Capability to handle large media files and cloud storage workflows
• Access to required editing software and tools
• Ability to deliver in various formats based on distribution requirements
